Brampton College has a long history of achieving outstanding A level results. In the DfE league tables, we have been the top sixth form college in London for 21 years (out of last 22 years) for A level results.
The College also has an outstanding record of ‘value added’ which measures progress from GCSE to A level. A positive score means students made more progress, on average, than students with similar GCSE results. This report was last published by the DfE in January 2020 where Brampton was placed in the top 2% of all colleges and schools in the country.
As a specialist sixth form college, we provide our students with outstanding teaching and a wide variety of subject options so that they can choose subjects that appeal to their interests, whilst simultaneously fitting their skill set. This leads to an enthusiastic group of young people whose confidence and performance flourishes.
The college was founded nearly 30 years ago with two classrooms only. Now, however, we have fantastic amenities including four recently refurbished laboratories, a stunning art studio and a supervised library for quiet study.
A combination of devoted, motivating teachers and superb, unique facilities allows our students to have a one-of-a-kind learning experience that leads to exceptional examination results. For example, in 2024 55% of our A level students achieved an A*/A grade and 80% achieved A* – B grades. Also in 2024, 74% of our students were placed at a Russell Group university, including the University of Oxford, University of Cambridge, Imperial College, LSE, UCL, the University of Bristol and King’s College London.
